Tekendra and Jyoti stand first in the second ‘Amargarhi Half Marathon’ race competition

In the second ‘Amargarhi Half Marathon’ race competition held at Dadeldhura Headquarters, Tekendra Chand from civil side for men and Jyoti Rana from Nepal Army for women have won the first place.

In the second edition of the Amargarhi Half Marathon organized by Ranbam Gan, Ten Barracks Dadeldhura on Saturday, Tekendra Chand from the civil side won the first place in 1 hour 25 minutes 5 seconds and Jyoti Rana from the Nepal Army in 39 minutes 37 seconds. A marathon of 21 km for men and 10 km for women was organized.

Similarly, on the men’s side, Naresh Singh Bohra of Nepal Army has won the second position. He covered the prescribed distance in one hour, 27 minutes and 10 seconds. While Ramsingh Pal of Nepal Army won the third place, Shuriram Luhar from the civil side won the consolation place. Pal and Luhar covered the prescribed distance in one hour 29 minutes 2 seconds and one hour 29 minutes 40 seconds respectively.

Similarly, Sarita Badal of Nepal Army won the second place for women. He covered the prescribed distance in 51 minutes and 1 second. Bimala Khadka of Nepal Army won the third place while Anita Rawal from the civil side won the consolation place. Khadka and Rawal completed the prescribed distance in 51 minutes 19 seconds and 51 minutes 31 seconds respectively.

On the occasion of Mahashivratri and Sena Diwas, Ranbam Gana Dadeldhura said that a half marathon was organized with the slogan ‘Amargarhi Fort Protection and Support’. The competition was organized in collaboration with Amargarhi Municipality, Amargarhi Fort Development Committee and District Sports Development Committee. One hundred and twenty people, both men and women, participated in the marathon. Ranbam Gana Dadeldhura informed that 40 people participated in the walkathon organized during the marathon.
