Taekwondo host champion « News of Nepal


Kathmandu. The organizer Madan Bhandari Sports Academy won the title of the second Bagmati state level taekwondo competition on Saturday.

The host team became the champion with 9 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze. Manmaiju came second with 5 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze in the competition held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur.

Satisfied with the third place, Balaju got 4 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. The top three teams received cash prizes of 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 respectively.

Samir Tamang of Jaishidewal was declared the best player in the men’s category and Samarika Tamang of Manmaijuki in the women’s category. Surendra Khadgi was selected as the best coach. The best player won a cash prize of 5,000 and the coach received a cash prize of 3,000.
