Kathmandu. Chobhar-based Modern Indian School (MIS) has organized a sports competition after three years.
In the last three years, the sports competition could not be held due to the covid-19. 11 teams including the host school are participating in the MIS Cup competition organized this time. Students from MIS, St. Xavier’s, Gyanodaya, Rato Bangla, Triyog, Rupees, Alok Vidyashram, Rai School, Chandbagh, KV School, Toren School and DAV are competing in the competition.
The competition includes 5 games namely basketball, football, badminton, table tennis and chess. On the first day, in the basketball boys’ game on Tuesday, MIS won by defeating Rupees by 42-23 points. In other matches, Alok beat DAV by 40-12 and Gyanodaya defeated St. Xavier’s by 17-15. Similarly, Rai School defeated KV by 26-20.
Likewise, the home team MIS was shocked by a 3-1 goal difference against St. Xavier’s in boys football. In the next match, KV scored 5 goals at Alok’s post. Alok could return only one goal.
Home team MIS won the Junior Boys Badminton. The team ended the challenge of St. Xavier’s with a 2-1 set. Similarly, Triyog defeated Alok, KV defeated DAV and Rupij defeated Toran by equal 2-1 sets.
MIS Principal Peter Raju said that he is happy to conduct the annual competition again. Principal Raju said – This is our annual competition. The purpose of organizing such a competition is to provide a platform for interaction between schools and students for competition and excellence.
