Renu Dahal is a Nepalese politician, and she is currently serving as the Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
She is the daughter of Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), the co-chair of the Nepal Communist Party and former prime minister of Nepal.
Renu Dahal joined the CPN (Maoist Centre) (now the Nepal Communist Party) in 1994, and in 1996 she became a full-time member of the party.
She was a member (with proportional representation) of the First Constituent Assembly of Nepal.

Early Life
She was born on July 4th, 1976, in Bhimsen Nagar of Shivanagar VDC in Chitwan District.
Shivanagar is now known as the Bharatpur Metropolis.
Her father, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is the former prime minister of Nepal and co-chair of the Nepal Communist Party.
Political Career
Renu Dahal joined the Nepal Communist Party in 1994 and, after approximately two years, in 1996, she became a full-time member of the party.
She was a member of the First Constituent Assembly of Nepal from May 28th, 2008 to May 27th, 2012.
Nepalese local elections in 2017
Renu Dahal was the CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate for mayor in the 2017 Nepalese local election.
On August 5th, 2017, she was elected as the Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City by defeating her closest rival of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), Devi Gyawali.

Nepalese local elections in 2022
In the 2022 Nepalese local elections, Renu Dahal got the ticket as the mayoral candidate for the CPN (Maoist Centre).
She was very focused on her election campaign, and her father, Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), also gave her full support.
She was elected Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City for the second time after defeating CPN (UML) candidate Bijay Sebedi and Independent candidate Jagannath Paudel.

Personal Life
She is the second daughter of Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) and Sita Dahal.
She has one younger sister, whose name is Ganga. She had the eldest sister, Gyanu, who died in 2014, and a brother, Prakash, who died in 2017.
She is married to Arjun Pathak and they have two children.
