Education
Rabi Lamichhane has completed his primary education at Bhrikuti Secondary School and completed his high school education at Ratna Rajya Campus.
For his higher education, he moved to America and completed degrees in journalism and mass communication.
Career
Rabi Lamichhane began his career in journalism in 2013 with the News24 channel.
In April 2013, he aimed to set the Guinness World Record for hosting the longest marathon television show, and he became very popular at that time and generated a large fan base.
During the marathon television show, he interviewed many politicians, journalists, and celebrities and also took phone calls from viewers.
He set the Guinness World Record for hosting a 62.12-hour-long marathon television talk show.
To promote Nepal globally, he selected the theme called Buddha was born in Nepal.
He hosted many popular television shows during his journalism career; one of the most popular was Sidha Kura Janta Sanga (Straight Talk with the People) while he was on the News24 channel.
The format of the show, called Sidha Kura Janta Sanga, was to provide an editorial monologue alongside reporting that primarily followed up on complaints from ordinary people, chiefly victims of fraud or corruption, and confronted the alleged perpetrators on camera.
In January 2021, he resigned from the News24 Network and joined Galaxy 4K TV, where he announced the launch of a new version of his show.
Political career

In June 2022, he resigned as managing director of the Galaxy 4K TV Channel.
And in June 2022, he announced he was entering politics and formed a new political party, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (National Independent Party).
Rabi Lamichhane is a candidate from Chitwan-2 from the Rastriya Swatantra Party for the 2022 Nepalese general election.
Election Day is November 20, 2022.
The political symbol of the Rastriya Swatantra Party is “Ghanti,” a bell.
Controversy
On August 15, 2019, Chitwan police took Rabi Lamichhane into custody from his News24 office in connection with the suicide of journalist Shalikram Pudasaini.
Shalikram Pudasaini worked with Rabi at News24; before the suicide, he recorded a video and blamed Lamichhane for driving him to suicide.
Chitwan Police arrested Rabi Lamichhane along with two others for abetment of suicide.
In his support, thousands of young people took a stand and organized protest rallies across the country, with thousands of young people taking to the streets in Chitwan.
Supporters of the Rebi saw Lamichhane’s arrest as an attempt to stifle his journalism and as retaliation for his exposure to corruption in the country.
After a few days, Rabi Lamichhane was released on a Rs 500,000 bail fine, and later on, the court cleared him of all charges.

Rabi Lamichhane is married to Nikita Poudel, who is a Nepalese film producer and former chairperson of the Nepal Film Development Board.
