Hetaunda Manang Masryangdi Club has won the title of the 5th Shahid Memorial Local Level International Football Tournament (Makwanpur Gold Cup).
Manang won the title for the first time after defeating Himalayan Sherpa Club by 1-0 in the final on Wednesday. For the title, Manang received 1.5 million in cash and runner-up Himalayan received 1.0 million in cash.
Roshan Ranamar’s goal in the 78th minute became decisive for Manang in a very competitive match. He was also declared the man of the match. He received Rs 10,000 in cash. Manang’s captain and goalkeeper Deep Karki was declared the best player in the tournament. He received a Bullet motorcycle sponsored by Hetaunda School of Management.
Karki from Manang, defender Amit Shrestha from Himalayan Sherpa, midfielder Kamal Thapa from Manang, forward Youmi from Sherpa and coach Kiran Shrestha from Manang were also selected as the best goalkeeper. They took 25,000 people. 12 teams participated in the competition which started on January 28th.
