Cash award to the winning cricket team « News of Nepal


Kathmandu. The government is going to give Rs 2 lakh each to the members of the Nepali cricket team who won the series in Kathmandu under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.

Members of the Nepali National Cricket Team met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda at Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar on Thursday. During this, Prime Minister Prachanda announced the prize money of the players.

This time, by winning all the games, you have played a historic role in raising the heads of the Nepali people. On behalf of the government of Nepal, we announce that we will give 200,000 rupees to each person as an inspiration’ said Prime Minister Prachanda to the players.

Nepal swept the four-match series against Namibia and Scotland at the Trivial Cricket Ground last week. The Nepali National Cricket Team is going to UAE on February 13th for the series to be held from February 15 to 22 under ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. Nepal will play its first match against Papua New Guinea on February 15.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Prachanda wished the players going to UAE to play the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two series. ‘You have made a record, I congratulate you for that,’ said Prachanda, ‘by winning four games out of four, you have played a role in raising the heads of the Nepali people.’

The players who will get 2/2 lakh are Rohit Paudel (captain), Dipendra Singh Airi, Gyanendra Mall, Asif Sheikh, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Kushal Bhurtel, Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi, Bhim Sarki, Sandeep Zora, Kushal Mall, Gulshan Jha, Arif Sheikh and Sandeep Lamichhane. There are Sandeep is not in the team Spinner Sandeep has not been included in the team going to UAE to play the triangular ODI series of the ICC World Cup League-2. When the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) announced the 15-member team, Sandeep was not included in the Nepal team. Staying in the top three, you have to win all the matches to directly qualify for the World Cup.

Nepal will now play Papua New Guinea on February 27, UAE on March 2, Papua New Guinea on March 3 and UAE on March 6. After that, Nepal will play Papua New Guinea on March 9 at the Trivi Cricket Ground. They will compete against UAE on March 12, Papua New Guinea on March 13 and UAE on March 16. It will also be the last match of League 2.
