Fake Bhutanese refugee case: Four charges filed against 30 people

District Public Prosecutor’s Office Kathmandu has filed four charges against 30 people in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.

After receiving the investigation report of the police, on Wednesday, the public prosecutor’s office filed a case against 30 people for crimes against the state, organized crime, fraud and violation of official documents.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamazhi, Former Home Minister Balkrishna Khan, Khan’s then Personal Secretary Narendra KC, Former Speaker Angtawa Sherpa, then Home Ministry Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s security advisor Indrajit Rai, Top Bahadur Rayamazhi’s son Sandeep, Morang’s Keshav Dulal, Lalitpur’s Sanu Bhandari, Morang’s Sagar A case has been registered against Thulung Rai, Tank Gurung of Panchthar, Sandesh Sharma Pokharel of Dang, Gobind Chaudhary of Sunsari, Ramsharan KC of Kathmandu and 30 others. Out of which 16 people have been arrested and 14 are absconding.

In the indictment, the public prosecutor’s office claims that the fraud of 288.174 thousand has been confirmed, and the same compensation has been demanded.
