Provinces lagging behind in human development index are given priority in the budget: Prime Minister Prachanda


Kathmandu. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ informed that the budget for the next financial year will be allocated keeping Karnali, Sudurpaschim and Madhesh provinces as the center, which are lagging behind in the human development index.

In a meeting with the delegation of Far Paschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah today at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, he said that the overall development of that province will be given priority in the coming year’s budget.

On that occasion, the delegation informed the Prime Minister about the overall economic situation of the province, development and construction work, and asked him to give special priority in budget allocation.

Govind Acharya, Prime Minister’s Press Adviser, informed that Prime Minister Prachanda has made some special arrangements in policies and programs focusing on the Far West and has prioritized them in the budget as well.

The delegation led by Chief Minister Shah also brought the Prime Minister’s attention to the issue of the reduction of the equalization grant for the current year.
