In the case against Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepali cricket team, the Kathmandu District Court has ordered the seizure of the birth certificate after two dates of birth of the girl, who is said to be the victim, were found.
District Court Judge Fanindra Prasad Parajuli bench has asked for a copy of the birth certificate to understand the evidence.
Deepak Dahal, Information Officer of Kathmandu District Court, informed that because the date of birth was different between the document received from the hospital and the document received from the local body, the entire birth certificate was requested to understand the evidence.
A complaint of extortion was filed against Sandeep on August 21 last at Gaushala Police Circle. Sandeep was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport on October 20 due to an arrest warrant issued by the Kathmandu District Court on August 23.
He was sent to Central Jail Sundhara by the Kathmandu District Court for pre-trial detention, and the Patan High Court ordered him to be released with a bond of 2 million rupees on January 29.
The trial of the extortion case against him is going on in the Kathmandu District Court.
