The Nepali Army is going to distribute free sanitary pads for its female soldiers and employees.
Commander-in-Chief’s Command Policy and Guidelines 2078 Goal No. 6 (Expansion and effective management of welfare services and concessions) has been arranged under the welfare work.
For this, the Welfare Directorate of the Army has set up its own manufacturing plant. Production has already started by distributing 16 sanitary pads per person per month from the factory.
Machhapuchhre Bank has provided machines to the Directorate of Military Welfare for setting up a sanitary pad manufacturing factory. Similarly, Nabil Bank, Siddharth Bank and Kumari Bank have also provided support for pad production.
Santosh Koirala, Chief Executive Officer of Machhapuchhre Bank, handed over the sanitary pad production machine to Commander-in-Chief Prabhuram Sharma in the presence of the representatives of the mentioned banks in a program held at Jangi Adda today.
. The Nepali Army has established a military welfare fund and is conducting various programs for the benefit of serving and retired military personnel and their dependent families. Operation and management of the Military Welfare Fund has been in accordance with the Military Act 2063. According to Jangi Adda, free and regular sanitary pads will be provided to female students studying in colleges and schools operated under the fund.
