The power alliance meeting concluded that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda does not need to take a vote of confidence. The alliance meeting held at Singha Darbar on Saturday evening came to this conclusion.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chief Whip of CPN-Maoist Heetaraj Pandey said that it was concluded that there is no need to take a vote of confidence.
After the Rashtriya Swatantra Party withdrew its support to the government on Friday, discussions started that Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda should take a vote of confidence again.
But because the government has a clear majority, it was concluded in the meeting that it is not necessary to take a vote of confidence immediately. Pandey said that in the same meeting, how to proceed with the Parliament, which is going to start from Sunday, and the appointment of the Chief Justice were also discussed.
Similarly, in the meeting of the coalition, the principles and priorities of the next year’s budget, which will be presented to the Parliament on Sunday, were also discussed.
