Rashtriya Janamorcha has decided to participate in the Chitwan-2 by-election to be held on 10 Baisakh.
The Parliamentary Board meeting chaired by party president Chitra Bahadur KC on Tuesday decided to participate in the by-election from Chitwan-2. When Ravi Lamichhane of RSVP was preparing to contest the election from that constituency, Janamorcha decided to contest against his candidacy.
“It has been decided to carry forward the by-election as an important platform of struggle in order to destroy the role of the ‘independent party’ opened in Nepal for the influence of the growing American imperialism, Christianization and the fulfillment of the interests of the West,” said the statement issued after the meeting.
Earlier, when he went to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Jan Morcha expressed gratitude for preserving the country’s sovereignty and integrity by not appointing Lamichhane as the Home Minister. The Jan Morcha, which has been expressing its happiness that Lamichhane could not be reinstated as Home Minister, has decided to run against him. Along with the decision of Jan Morcha, it has also become the first political party to formally contest in Chitwan-2.
Even though it has been decided to run for Chitwan-2, Jan Morcha has not announced who will be the candidate from that party.
