Action has been recommended against two DSPs for their negligence in the transport workers’ movement in Balaju, Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Valley Police Office Ranipokhari formed a five-member investigation committee under the leadership of DIG Masaud Alam Khan after the heavy loss in Balaju’s movement. The committee has recommended action against DSP Ravin Bista of police circle Balaju and DSP Ganesh Bahadur Bam of police circle Sohrakhutte. The committee submitted its report on Monday.
During the protest on February 1, two police vehicles were vandalized and burnt in Balaju.
Similarly, a makeshift police station was burnt and the traffic island vandalized.
Similarly, there was vandalism at Lhotse Mall and robbery at Acidisi and Diamond mobile shops.
District Police Complex Kathmandu has arrested 51 people including 35 people in arson and vandalism and 16 people in robbery.
They have been investigated for criminal nuisance and theft and robbery cases.
