
Kathmandu. The newly appointed Forest and Environment Minister Birendra Prasad Mahato has emphasized on the production of herbs and expressed his commitment to make it easier for exports abroad.
He said this while taking the oath of office and secrecy from President Ramchandra Poudel at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetalniwas on Wednesday. He also said that he will pay special attention to the arrangement of decaying wood. He promised to create an environment where decaying wood can be exported abroad or consumed domestically in accordance with the law in Nepal. He said that he will focus on facilitating the complicated procedures regarding hydropower in the Ministry of Forestry.
Minister Mahato promised to monitor the industries that affect the environment and bring them into operation without any impact. He promised not to allow corruption and not to act under any temptation as long as he remains in the ministry.
