Federal government treated state government like beggars: CM Shah


Kathmandu. Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has accused the federal government of treating the provincial government like beggars.

Tuesday Finance Minister Dr. Speaking to the media after the meeting with Prakashsharan Mahat, Chief Minister Shah accused the federal government of behaving like a beggar and the federal government a beggar. He complained that the federal government was only showing lollipops as if it had given power to the state government.

He said that the federal government is under the control of the federal government from the revenue mobilization under the state to the mobilization of natural resources. He said that the state government has established a monopoly by saying that it will give subsidy if the revenue is collected. He said that even though the natural resources came under the province, they could not accept it. He said that there is a situation in which the police adjustment, staff management and chief district officers are accountable to the central government, and they have to fight for the distribution of powers between the state and the federal government.

Chief Minister Shah said that the central government has a monopoly on distribution in the areas of revenue collection. He complained that Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces were not included in the goal of sustainable development.
