Protests saying that the government is not serious about the fake Bhutanese refugee issue

Kathmandu. Akhil (Revolutionary), a student organization close to CPN (Revolutionary Maoist), has demonstrated demanding the arrest and action of those involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee case.

On Monday, the leaders of student organizations gathered at Maitighar Mandla and demonstrated against corruption. Harikrishna Gajurel, Chairman of Akhil (Revolutionary), while speaking at the protest program, objected that the police had found 32 people guilty in the Bhutanese refugee case, but so far they have not arrested more than 16 people.

He said that the big leaders involved in this case, Dr. Arju Rana Deuba and Manju Khan should be immediately arrested and investigated by the police, he said. He also demanded to bring Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli under the scope of investigation. He accused the government of not being serious about the issue of fake Bhutanese refugees.

The protesting student organization workers protested with placards and slogans such as “Accept everyone involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee case, protect national independence, and immediately take action against human traffickers.”
