
Kathmandu. Energy meeting between Nepal and Bangladesh is starting from Monday in Bangladesh.
In the talks, there will be a discussion on preparing the necessary environment to start the electricity business in the upcoming rainy season. On the first day, a meeting of the joint working group will be held, and on the second day, a meeting of the joint directorate committee at the energy secretary level of Nepal and Bangladesh will be held. The meeting will be led by Dinesh Ghimire, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and Bangladesh’s Secretary of Energy, Habibur Rahman.
Nepal has proposed to sell electricity from the Likhu-4 hydroelectric project in Bangladesh. After the proposal was approved by the Indian government and permission to use its transmission line, there is a plan to trade electricity with Bangladesh before the next rainy season. The agenda of the meeting is that Bangladesh will exchange the experience of solar power generation and Nepal will also exchange the experience of hydropower project development. In the meeting, the Sunkoshi-3 project development will be discussed.
