Udaipur. The Udaipur cement industry, which is fully owned by the Nepal government, is collapsing daily.
The 35th Annual General Meeting of Udaipur Cement Industry will be held on Friday. Due to the negligence of the managerial leadership, the industry has passed through a difficult situation. The cement industry, which is closed most of the time on the pretext of coal shortage, is in a state of collapse. The cement industry, which has been operating for one week in a month, has been completely closed since the last week of Chaitra.
After the continuous shutdown, four unions within the industry (Sagram Udyog Trade Union Nepal, Nepal Factory Workers Union, All Nepal Industrial Workers Union and Nepal Industrial Workers Organization) have been demanding the leadership to run the industry and hold a general meeting. After the pressure of the unions in the industry, the leadership reached the decision to hold the general meeting, but it was decided to hold the general meeting in Kathmandu.
The trade unions, who have been alleging financial embezzlement and irregularities in the industry, decided to hold the general assembly in Kathmandu, after warning of agitation in the industry, the leadership decided to hold the general assembly in Udaipur itself. Without informing anyone concerned, preparations started by holding a general meeting with the board of directors and some people.
In the 35th General Meeting of Udaipur Cement Industry, Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Ramesh Rizal said that it would be difficult to bring the industry into operation as the situation of the industry is extraordinary. Even if the government gives 10-20 million rupees, he is confident that the industry will come into operation. Minister Rizal questioned how the industry can be guaranteed to operate if the government supports it.
The general meeting and the situation of the industry, saying that they will not accept the general meeting held in a closed room in a well-planned manner, the trade unions along with the general manager Gopikrishna Neupane started rallying slogans against the leadership. General Manager Neupane, who came out after the general meeting, was surrounded by trade union employees.
The head of Triyuga municipality was sitting in the vehicle with the intention of escaping from there. But the mayor Basant Kumar Basnet started getting information about the problem from the leaders of the trade union.
General Manager Neupane has been closing the industry due to lack of coal in the industry. The trade unions have alleged that the general manager Neupane and some employees are colluding with the coal. General Manager Neupane stays in Kathmandu and doesn’t supply coal and shows shortage of coal and shuts down the industry.
Even though they try to bring coal once a month and bring the industry into operation, they bring low-quality coal and use it without lab testing. When the industry comes into operation, 5-6 cars of coal are consumed every day. Even when Neupane supplies coal, they provide only 4-5 vehicles per day.

After the supply of coal, the technician comes for the lab and takes the coal for testing but it takes 72 hours to get the lab report. But the coal lab report of the supplied coal can be completed 2 days earlier. Even though the suppliers who supply coal have been paid for one number of coal, with the collusion of the General Manager Neupane and the suppliers, they have been supplied with ultra-comasal coal and it has been used in the industry without any lab test.
