Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank is going to release the third quarter review of monetary policy on Friday.
The Rashtra Bank Board of Directors meeting has been sitting since 8 am to approve the review report.
Rabindra Pandey, newly appointed Director of Rashtra Bank and Finance Secretary Arjun Prasad Pokharel also participated in the meeting.
Pandey, who was appointed to the Rashtra Bank Board of Directors only last Tuesday, and Pokharel, who was brought in as Finance Secretary last week, participated in the Rashtra Bank meeting for the first time.
As there are signs that the economy has gone into recession, the National Bank is expected to adopt some flexibility through the review of the monetary policy. However, the International Monetary Fund and others are warning the National Bank that this is not the time to make a loose monetary policy.
