There is a need to start industrial economic revolution: Prime Minister Dahal


Kathmandu. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is a need to start an industrial economic revolution by developing and expanding industry.

He said this while addressing the opening program of the Nepal Business Summit held in Kathmandu on Sunday. He promised that agriculture and industry and self-employment will get special priority in the upcoming financial year’s budget. He also said that it is necessary to modernize and commercialize the agricultural sector and develop micro, domestic, small and medium industries.

He said that for rapid economic growth, there is a need to expand domestic and foreign investment in areas with great potential including agriculture and forest production, tourism, hydropower and information technology. He mentioned that he felt the need to take some drastic measures to create a friendly environment for foreign investment.

Prime Minister Dahal also said that there is a need to end the hassle of the legal process. Prime Minister Dahal announced that a policy would be made to allow foreign universities to be opened easily in Nepal to prevent talented students from migrating abroad.

Prime Minister Dahal said that all current problems can be solved through collective efforts. He expressed his belief that the summit will facilitate the preparation of the budget for the next financial year. He said that in the current situation, the economic situation in Nepal is getting stronger. He said that only by giving high priority to agriculture, the overall industry and economy of the country can be strengthened.

He also said that there is a need for revolutionary reforms in agriculture.
