Arrangements are being made to pay from the insurance company’s branch office: President Silwal

Kathmandu. Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority Surya Prasad Silwal has said that the authority is taking initiatives to arrange payment of claims from branch offices of insurance companies.

In an interaction with industrialists in Butwal on Wednesday, Chairman Silwal said that the insurance companies have been instructed to pay claims quickly by arranging minimum documents.

He informed that he will proceed with the necessary process after discussing with the related parties regarding the increase in accident insurance. He said that the authority has been continuing the insurance-related discussion and interaction program with the state government and local government to increase insurance awareness.

Rajuraman Paudel, Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority, informed that insurance claim payment and complaint management as well as monitoring, inspection and supervision of insurers are being carried out by the provincial offices of the authority.

In the event, industrialists emphasized that the companies should also take the initiative to create a situation where the insured seeks the insurer and not the insurer. They demanded that there should be a policy arrangement in relation to timber insurance, increase the insurance fee of accident insurance and increase the existing insurance of human damage.

They insist that claims should be paid according to insurance claims, insurance awareness and insurance education should be promoted collectively, and claims should be settled quickly by making it mandatory to submit reports from insurance surveyors.
