Kathmandu. Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Ramakrishna Subedi has said that the work of printing school textbooks should not be given to the private sector.
While the Janak Shiksha Material Center is delaying the printing of textbooks, Secretary Subedi said that the capacity of the Janak Shiksha Material Center should be increased in textbook printing.
In the meeting, MPs suggested to the government to provide school level textbooks to schools on time, even if they are given to the private sector. Secretary Subedi mentioned that there was a promise to send the textbooks to the schools after printing them by the 15th of Chaitra, and said that there is no choice but to rely on them.
He argued that there are political and legal complications in giving the textbook printing to the private sector. Secretary Subedi said that it is not possible to give the printing of textbooks to the private sector even to save the collapsed center.
